Its Finally In The Driveway
After a lot of headaches and a month of waiting the new truck is finally in the driveway and I couldn't be happier.
2013 XTR Scab Tuxedo Black
302a
5.0
3.55
4wd
Had the dealer tint it, undercoat it, put in a spray in liner and remove the XTR decals from the box (I've always been a fan of clean sides on pickups). Got about 13.5K in rebates and discounts.
I love this truck, total night and day from my old one (2011 2wd 5.0 XLT). I liked my old truck but this one really does it for me. I can't believe how much I missed a power driver seat and heated side view mirrors (both of which my car had prior to buying my last truck).
So far on my daily commute to work the mileage comp is giving me 11.7L/100km, that's 80% highway at 90 km/h. I know these things aren't exact but even if I'm getting 13L/100km I'll be pretty happy. My old truck's comp (older blue LCD display) showed 10L/100km and I usually hand calculated around 11L/100km so fairly close.
First pic is my old truck, the one underneath it is the new one.

After driving it for a week I'm extremely surprised at the mpg I'm getting, the old 2wd 3.31 truck sat right around 11L/100km after being broken in. This 4wd 3.55 truck is getting 11.9L/100km before being broken in! This is along the same route with no change in driving style.
Both these mileage values were hand calculated even though the trip / mileage computer in this truck seems to be very accurate. It is also showing 11.9L/100 km average. The little meter that tells you how many liters you've used is also bang on. I filled it Saturday morning, the computer said I had used 92.7 liters, the pump clicked at 93 liters right on the dot.
Very impressed so far!
