Default Tuner

I have a 2013 STX 5.0L V8. I have installed a Volant CAI. Thinking about a tuner researching them and been looking at the Edge Evolution CTS. Nice features with the backup camera and all. I noticed it supports CAI tunes for AFE. Now wondering if anyone knows of a tuner that supports Volant. Or if anyone out there has that tuner with the Volant and can get me some feedback.

The Edge Evolution will ask you on first time bootup if you have modified the air intake so that would be where you would enter the Volant info. If you're in the market for a complete backup camera setup with Evolution tuner please check us out! We carry an OE fit camera that is way better than the Edge camera and it's bundled with the Tuner to save you some bucks. Here's the item in our store:

Take care and thanks for asking your question!

UPDATE: Volant CAI is not supported by Edge at the time of this posting. Running the Volant CAI with an Edge tuner *could* make your truck run lean.

To answer your question, I don't know.

I do recommend looking into custom tuning.......... You will get a lot more bang for the buck.

Anyone ever try this:

http://www.gfchips.com/fordf150.aspx

$69 seems really really low to me.

Never mind. Google is your friend:

Hi - do you have a link to all the specific CAI's the CTS supports? I can't find anything relevant on the Edge website. Only the "Do Not Use a CAI" warning on page 8 of the CS/CTS user manual. Thanks.

OP - The CS/CTS platform cannot be custom tuned. So if there is no embedded support for yer specific CAI/WAI model. it's the wrong device for a truck running a Volant (and there is very little to gain from that CAI in any case, BS marketing notwithstanding ).

good luck

I'll call them Monday and get the scoop. I talked to them the other day and he said no problem on the Volant CAI... which is strange there is conflicting info in their manual.

I'll ask the question to my rep and get you an answer asap.

Thank-you sir!

I suspect the online downloadable PDF manual is somewhat dated, and does not reflect the newer functionality that has come to the CS/CTS with recent software updates - aftermarket CAI support for select models being one of them.

You may wish to point that out - they should try to keep the manual current.

Thanks again!

Just spoke to my Edge tech support rep and he confirmed that your Volant CAI IS NOT compatible. Sorry for the confusion as my sales rep gave me bad info. As you mentioned AFE is the only intake supported at this time and the Volant could make your truck run lean. He mentioned his brother is using it with the Volant config and it's fine but he knows there are others using it and running lean.

Wish I could help but at this point you may want to take the conservative route and find a different tuner that is compatible.

Thanks!
