Has anyone gotten the official recall notice in the mail? The Ford owner's site still doesn't have a recall number listed for the reprogramming.

Well it's just a computer update, plug in IDS and select update. Can't see it taking much more than .3 (18 minutes).

I just called and they were able to squeeze me in this evening. They said waiting appointments have only taken about a half hour.

Dropped mine off at opening time 7:30 am and got a call at 9 am telling me the truck was ready.

I agree...thats why I questioned the Service Manager about it. As long as it gets fixed .3 hrs or 3 hrs.....meh.

Took my 2013 STX in this morning at 8:30 am and it was ready by 10. I came home and updated my SCT X4 and have installed the 93 octane "canned" tune back in the truck. I did ask them to do a sync reset in hopes of getting my I phone to do all the cool stuff it did before I changed phones at Christmas but they wanted to charge me so I said to forget it. It looked like Ford Truckville at the service area today! All is well and one less thing to worry about when your riding 90 down the highway! Goodtimes!

So after the transmission PCM is re-programmed by the dealership, does the tune strategy number change or is it the same as before?

Im interested as well as when the whole VW dieselgate was happening VW re-flashed the PCM's to fix the issue and it basically ruined the performance and driveability

Just got the recall done yesterday evening. It took a whole 10 minutes (for a waiting appointment, so they knew I'd be sticking around till it was done), and they reprogrammed it right in the vehicle staging area while I filled out some paperwork.

I was surprised that the shifts actually feel smoother than before. I was expecting the exact opposite. I had a rough upshift from 1 to 2 with a cold tranny that was pretty annoying, and that seemed to be gone this morning. It also feels like the tranny holds gears a bit longer. I gave it some gas to pass on the highway this morning and noticed having to give it a bit more pedal before the tranny downshifted. I'm sure everything will go back to normal once the PCM re-learns my driving habits in a few days. Haven't tried tow/haul mode, but probably will when I hook up my tool trailer tomorrow. I don't think the 'tune strategy' changed, but I do notice slight differences than before. Nothing major though. The truck still drives like before.
