Default trans shudder

Hi all, just got my truck XLT,CC,4x4, 4.6, 6spd trans, last week and have less than 300 miles on her. I have noticed a few times while going about 30 to 35 mph on a slight grade under light acceleration the truck will shudder\shake until I a) let off the gas b) push acc pedal down harder until trans downshifts. Has anyone else had this occur?

I'm going to run her awhile before taking it in. I want to make sure I know how to make the problem occur for the tech.

Thanks Jim

Yeah I'm pretty sure, truck runs smooth as silk other than this problem. Acts like an old ford work van I had when the trans was going out of it at 100,000 miles.

I have 850 miles other than a bit of a harder shift up or down have never
experienced that. I would have the dealer check it out

PCM may need reflashed. Personally sounds like it's running too high of a gear for too slow of a speed and it's not kicking down a gear.

I do believe you are onto something. It does act like a manual trans in the wrong gear. I will drive it for a couple of weeks so I can re-enact the problem at the ford garage. Thanks!

Mine did that some when I first got it new. After a while it quit doing it. 3200 miles on it now. It has the 5.4 and 6 speed auto.

Hey Jim-
I've had the exact same issue since day 1, along with the hard 1-2 shifting. My 2010 Lariat has 4500 miles on it, so I'm counting the days until mine reaches the supposed 5000-mile threshold. At that approximate mileage, the xmission program is supposed to be erased and things clear up.
