Is the supercrew you are looking at a 5.5' box or 6.5' box? If its a 5.5 you gain cab space and lose box space. Plus, I dont like the back of my XLT SCAB filled with my hand tool bags and drill bag and random small parts, and I have a canvass drop cloth over the floor and folded up rear seat. I would like it even less if I had a higher end trim truck with more stuff to scratch and break.
This is the exact setup I pictured. Especially with a topper and some organization solutions. I've seen the decked storange...brilliant. I don't tote that much stuff and do my wood projects from home mostly.

Top is my truck, bottom is the Platinum...I don't even know if the links worked...real upgrades are obviously in the interior.

Btw should I be blacking out my license plate, never understood why people did that...

But I won't budge unless the purchase price, and trade-in numbers reflect a good deal. FWIW they are asking 26,400 for this platinum with 79,000. I think it would be fair to go for 24-25k.

It is not urgent for me to get into a different truck, but it really would be nice to have a super crew, not to mention a platinum....
Understood.
$24k-$25k isn't unreasonable for that Platinum. They are probably into the Platinum for $20k-$22k.

IMO 24-25k is a steal for a platinum in good condition. When I was looking for my truck I wasn't even considering getting a platinum because most were over 30k. Luckily I found a good deal like you have found. Look up the blue book value and see what it says for this truck. And check the carfax and check for mechanical problems.

Checked the carfax it was a corporate vehicle....I'd like to find out what that entails, but I have looked at countless trucks (kind of a pathetic hobby), and I haven't seen many with seats/leather in this good of condition, which is kind of my gauge as to how an owner treated his truck. Call me crazy but guys who are **** about their trucks like myself, NEVER slide off the seats, and that often trickles down to everything about the truck.

Anyway, KBB gives this truck a $tag of about 24k. I'm nervous about 80k miles but I'll inspect it well. Hopefully no knocking like I read about with 5.0s.

Ecoboosts have many forum horror stories as well, mine is flawless so far. So I can't prejudge it.

I hope the dealership comes down, I should hear back tomorrow.

Yes I am very **** about my Platinum and giving how much these things cost they deserve to be pampered.
As for 5.0 knocking, that was 2011- early 2013 (and only some were bad in that build range)
Mid 2013-2014 your in the clear.
As you mentioned, inspect it well and if all is well, hope they meet your offer You will love it.

I too have the supercab buyer's remorse. I've been looking at Supercrew F150s, Crewmax Tundras, and crewcab Rams in the name of getting rid of the suicide rear doors and gaining more in-cab storage.

I'm probably going to an older truck as well. I made a rash decision to buy this truck, and it wouldn't do any good to make that mistake twice, so I'm looking at mostly trucks around five years old to save some money this time, and REALLY shopping around to be sure of what I really want (been looking for nearly a year at this point, looking for that truck that just "grabs" me the way my 2003 Ram did).

I traded my 12 5.0 supercrew Lariat in on a 10 supercrew platinum and the only thing I miss is the digital transmission temp Guage in the dash (I now monitor it with torque app on my phone when towing). Love the navigation, premium sound, moonroof, ambient lighting, power boards, etc that the platinum gives me. Of course I traded down in years and way down in miles (went from 86k to 42k).

I put 30k miles on my 5.0 Lariat without a hiccup, but you will miss the torque of the Turbo. Check to see what gears that platinum has, some of them had 3.31 pavement queen gears and will not tow anything. Also keep in mind the platinums are the heaviest models with those bells and whistles so if you don't have the 7700gvwr option, your payload capacity will be pathetic.
