Claims and real numbers are two different things lol. And yes it's a brute... I came from a 07 FJ cruiser. Lets just say it's another world. Oh and I was getting 9 MPG on the highway unloaded, truck only. Zero aerodynamic qualities+35 inch grapplers+200 lb winch bumper+90lb W7+40 lb roof mounted jack=MPG death. 19 gallon tank and I was lucky to go 190 miles lol. Still don't know why they didn't stuff a 5.7 in an FJ. Would be the ultimate little SUV. That thing would do crazy **** offroad.

Because you don't get the mileage I stated then that makes me a liar? I don't give a damn If you believe it. I didn't post to impress you. I posted because people like you want everyone to believe that all EBs get bad fuel mileage running empty and pulling a trailer. I get 21mpg at 65, 20mpg at 70, 18mpg at 75and 23 at 50mph all empty. Those mpg figures are all + or - a few tenths. I know what I got pulling that trailer. I checked it manually after fillups and it was the same as the dash readout.
I saw a spade, I called it a spade. I too can get from 18.5-20.5 driving 65, higher driving 55, and about 16-17 driving 75 and around 10 towing. I'm not upset about the mileage one bit, I was hoping for a little better, but I'm not going to sit and complain. I drive a pickup, I knew what to expect, I have a pickup to pull trailers and haul stuff and otherwise I drive a car. I like the ride of the pickup and the power that it has for a 1/2 ton. I came from a 5.3 and would never go back.

Here is my reasoning for why I don't believe your theory. I have pulled my same lil mini trailer with my dad's 12 King Ranch with a 6.7 and have gotten 12.1 mpg driving 65. I get less driving 75. I have also pulled a 7x27 vnose enclosed aluminum probably tipping the scales around 5-5500 at 75 and averaged 10.1 in a 1150 mile trip, with the same pickup. Another Eco with 3:31s pulled a 8.5x24 v nose trailer 75 mph on the interstate with and averaged at 8 mpg. I know how hard a flat front trailer pulls and I'm still calling BS.

I have around 610 miles of towing my enclosed trailer with my pickup and just under 3500 miles total on the pickup. I will be pulling my mini trailer again tonight in a 200 mile round trip, I'm going out full of household stuff to take to my sister and will be coming back empty. I will report back again in the morning.

I bought my SCrew 4x4 Eco in Sept 2011, in Oct 2011 moved from Illinois to Maine. Had about 400 Lbs in the bed and a 12 ft Uhaul trailer. I won't SAY the trailer was overloaded, but the tires on the trailer were not happy with the load. Average for the drive from IL to ME (65-70 MPH) was 15.2 MPG. The truck hardly ever even felt like it was pulling a trailer. When we got to ME it was mostly 2 lane roads, the truck had the power to pass slow drivers with no problems what-so-ever.

I don't get why people have to crap on someone because they can't believe their mileage claims.
I pull my 3500 lb contractor trailer on a regular basis. Some trips I'll get 18 mpg, some 13, some 15. It varies by how I drive and where I drive. Same empty. Sometimes I get great mileage, sometimes not so great. At 45000 kms, I'm averaging 18 mpg overall.
Just because you can't get decent mileage don't pull your 'BS flag' out of your *** and start waving it around. These trucks are highly capable of getting great all around mpg unless it is broken. It just depends on how and where you drive.

Wow, for knowing nothing you seem to be an expert. How much was I overloaded in the truck and what tires do I have on my trailer?

IMHO what turns these posts into battles is the crazy difference in reported MPG towing. It makes no sense whatsoever how a person with a taller geared 5.0 can tow approx 6000 lbs nd get 16 MPG. Then someone like me tows a 6000 lb travel trail with a Max tow EB that stays in 6 the gear all day long at 70 and gets 10-11. I am not calling anyone a liar but it sure is very odd towing similar weights MPG can vary 5-6 MPG.

Yep, indeed I'm an expert if you want to talk about towing...sorry but coming here and saying you drive 75mph while towing 9000lbs doesn't make you cool... come on, we're not kids driving civic and racing at red lights.

Tires are indeed irrelevant if you know ST tires are rated at 65mph...Maybe you have LT tires under your trailer, do you know? If your trailer is really 9000lbs yep...you are most likely overweight in your truck by a big margin but that you do not care because you can tow 11300lbs right?
