You would prob be fine with 8 ply. You have to decide if you want to go more with ride comfort with the 8 or the added security and stiffer ride with the 10 ply. Either way it will be stiffer than a passenger rated tire.

My stock Hankook 17" tires now have 56,000 miles on them and look like they'll go another 10,000. A lot of hiway miles though.

Default Nitto terra grappler

I just put these on mine. I had issues with my stock Goodyears. I have about 1100 KM on mine and they are nice. Just snowed here and the road where pretty icy and no issues.
