Default Tire Recommendations

Hi All,

I don't do off-roading, and really want to ditch my Cooper Discoverer AT because of the roaring on the road.

Anyone recommend a good set of durable road tires? Ill be looking for P275/65R18's

Thanks in advance,

I have been very happy with my Cooper AT3's.

Like I said, I really want to ditch the ATs altogether, I simply don't do any offroading to justify having them on - apart from liking the white wall as part of the overall 'look'

Incidentally they are AT3 that are currently on the truck. I find it's a little too much vibration for my taste.

I just put a set of Nexen Roadian AT Pro RA8s on mine, and couldn't be happier with them. They are the same size you are wanting, 275/65/18

A little bit of an aggressive look, without the road noise of a lot of the AT tires. In fact, there really isn't any road noise with these. At $152 USD a tire, it made it that much nicer of a selection for me.

I was very impressed with the Dueler Alenzas that came on mine. Great traction dry and wet, good mileage, too.

I have the same 18" Michelins and am now looking too myself for the same size as the op. Anymore suggestions, I do not want a noisy A/T as I basically street drive my fx2.

I have the Michelin LTX M/S2 on mine. Have run the M/S on previous Cherokee and 4wd Explorer as well. They are expensive but have been well worth the price to me. Have run them on sand, mud/clay, snow and ice and have made it through without getting stuck.
Spend more time on the interstate than bombing through mud holes and we don't get 3 feet of snow here but they have worked well in situations outside my normal driving range. They do get used off-road with the expectation of they are merely a street tire. And no I don't work for Michelin.

I had a set of the MS2's on my Tahoe and they are great on wet roads (PA roads get oily in light rain), very quiet and incredible wear life.

I like the Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar - not too loud on pavement
