Tire Pressure Fault Sensor & TPMS

Tire Pressure Fault Sensor & TPMS
I had 4 new tires mounted & balanced on my 2011 F150 yesterday and told the shop prior to starting the work that my Tire pressure Fault Sensor warning notice was coming on from time to time but not continuously.
They mounted the new tires and put in a TPMS kit and I left, about 50 miles later the Tire Pressure Fault Sensor warning came back on. I believe they did a reset and after the light came back on I have done another reset.
I understand this may be a battery issue but with the info that I gave them should they have suggested replacing the batteries at that time? I understand this would come at an additional cost but now I expect it will cost me more $$$ to have the tires removed again and the new batteries installed.
Am I missing something or should they have suggested that they replace the batteries when they mounted the tires on a 2011 vehicle?

Its a 4 dollar add on that tire places like Discount try and sell you. It rebuilds the sensor. When I bought my wifes tires last month, I told them to forget about it!

The TPMS "kit" just replaces the seal. The TPMS battery's are not replaceable, they have a life of about 5 to 7 years then the entire TPMS needs to be replaced.
