Default 2013 Limited - Odometer wrong

Check this out..
I reset my trip gauge at 40,000 miles.. Now almost 3,000 miles later, the trip gauge doesn't match the odometer. Off by more than a mile.

Which one is right? Which one is wrong?

The distance between the two is slowly growing. I noticed it when it was off by a few 10th's of a mile.

1.1 mi difference? I wouldnt be too concerned lol. 100+ difference...ok then.

Change the dash readout to mpg/trans temp/etc. and carry on IMO.

Could be that they're getting their readings from different sensors.

Did you change tire sizes using forscan or something between then and now? Or maybe one measures reverse and the other doesnt?

I was wondering about reverse too. But there is no way I drove over a mile in reverse in 3k miles..
No tire change in that time.

I think we need someone to test driving in reverse for at least 1/10 of a mile to be sure. its only 528 feet. Just round up and backup down a football field, make a reverse u turn and head back the other way. Only way to be sure
Joking aside, lets say every time you backup you move about 2 truck lengths, I would say that's not too difficult. Sometimes, more, sometimes less. Wiki says our trucks are 213.1–250.4 in so lets go in the middle and say 230 inches. 460 inches (38.3333 feet) for reversing 2 vehicle lengths (estimated). 63,360 inches in a mile. = 137 reverses. If you reverse out of your garage or a parking lot or anything just once every day. 137 days, or about 4.5 Months.
Now back to you, 2841 miles / 137 (estimated) days = 20.7 miles per day.
Do you drive about 20 miles per day? Do you backup once a day?

I'd say its very possible.

It's only a model...

I'd say I do.
Drive about 50 miles a day.
And back up a couple of times a day.
At work I back up about 200' a day.
(strange shape to the parking lot to get back to the street.)

It is strange that one would count the reverse and the other wouldn't.

In my last couple of cars. They were definitely both synced up. I would reset them to try and get all the number to match.. Never had one out of whack.
