tailgate lock
That's exactly what I did. I bent the bracket into a "U" shape so I could put the actuator on the same plane as the mechanism. Because the stroke of the actuator doesn't match that of the mechanism the flex in the bracket will absorb the difference, hopefully extending the life of all components.
So has anyone done this with the tailgate step? Does the step get in the way of mounting the actuator? I am considering doing this but want to be sure before I go ahead and take the tailgate apart.
Good luck.
Jeff
Like Ian said, the gray/brown is one. I couldn't get the purple/white to work but I can't remember what the other wire was (I think it was the light blue/green). I do know that I tried many wires to unlock on the second push of the button but never did find the right combination. If you figure that out, please let us know.
With a backup camera in the tailgate they get real expensive. I added a Gate Keeper to slow a thief down. Means they have to bring one more tool and spend a few minutes taking it off...
