Yup they stole my buddies silverado tailgate all my trucks I've owned had locks I never leave it unlocked it only takes a few seconds

They just busted a guy down here in Fla who had something in the neighborhood of 200 plus tailgates in volusia county. Best to lock them. My dealer told me to lock mine the day I bought it because of issues . I took his word for it and never looked back

We tied into the wires at drivers door but we have them locking & unlocking with the drivers door.

Interesting. Last year, some idiot stole the tailgate from my cousin's truck in St. Augustine.
