Correct me if I am wrong but, Ford in their infinite wisdom, decided to spot weld a bracket over top of a bracket that is BOLTED ON. WTF

If you have the manstep. I think the bracket prevenst the tailgate from lifting up when you step on the manstep ladder. ****, I'm afraid to open the tailgate now! They better make this good.

Do not load your bike with the tire sitting directly on the tail gate. It most likely will cause damage. Put down a peice of plywood to distribute the weight more venly across the tail gate and bed.

This happens on the manstep tailgate only. Went down to Ford this morning and they gave me two options, a new tailgate, with or without the manstep. I got the one without! Its a useless POS anyway.

Glad to know they honored the warranty and with the option of the standard tailgate!

Obviously, they know it's a problem.

No, it does not hit anything, but, they warned me not to use the tailgate. I need to move 3 ladders to another job, and need the tailgate to rest them on. Guess what? As soon as the PO is written, the ladders get moved. They are supposed to call me later today on when the tailgate comes in.

This is exactly why I didn't get the tail gate step. I had a strong feeling it was unreliable and something would break. Glad I decided not to. The salesman was pushing it on me, saying I would love it.
