Unhappy Sync Voice Recognition Problem

I have a 3 day old 2011 Lariat Screw with Navigation. The voice commands worked amazingly well the first couple of days. Now all the sudden it stopped working. When I hit the button it asks me to say a command, but then it never "hears" me all of the sudden. It just sits there acting like I haven't said anything... I have tried a dozen or so different commands that all worked yesterday. I have tried just saying simple "navigation" or anything, and nothing works.

Am I missing something here or does this need to go into the shop already?

Sync having issues is a known problem. Ford told me to pull the Sync fuse for 3 minutes. If that does not work time for repair. I pulled the fuse and Sync is still flaky but it might work for you.

If I pull that fuse, will it erase any of the programming, uploading, settings, etc.? I spent all weekend setting everything just the way I like it! Ha!

So also would a "master reset" wipe all of my custom settings, waypoints, music, etc.?

So, what about pulling the fuse? Still wipes everything just like a master reset?

I had the same problem with my iphone. The problem seemed to be caused by the iphone and Sync trying to re-download the phone book. I disabled the option to auto-download the phone book in truck and now everything works great. If you update your phone book, you'll have to force the truck to download your phone book, but that's pretty easy.

So the Sync trying to download your phonebook from your iphone caused your entire sync system not to work in recognizing your speaking even with navigation or stereo or anything? I alsa have an iphone so i will try that and see if it works...

It does erase some stuff but I really have not noticed anything other than the iPhone and sync are working
