sync upgrade sucks
2012 F150 XLT
I recently upgraded to the newest sync upgrade. even if I had done my due diligence I never would have expected what happened after the upgrade.
Before upgrade: Using an ipod I could hit the menu button on the head unit and then navigate all thru my ipod with the steering wheel controls.
After upgrade: I hit the menu button and then if i use the navigation buttons on the steering wheel it advances to the next song. So, now I have to click the menu button, click ok on the steering wheel, go back to the head unit to navigate up or down to the next selection, then back to the steering wheel to click ok. Have to do this several times to get thru the menu.
When I called Ford the technician told me they did this on purpose.
So lets see, use the steering wheel controls or go back and forth to the head unit. Which do we think is safer? What kind of an idiot do you have to be to come up with this?
Does anyone know how to install the previous version? I asked the Ford tech and he said it couldn't be done but I would expect that from Ford. I have seen many queries asking to perform this same step but so far have not found a successful case.

Just bought a new '14 2 weeks ago - had been on the lot for 14 months. I did the Sync update the first few days. Don't notice too much not working, but the "Update/Add" door codes does not work at all. I can still do it from the door, but the screen through Sync won't work at all. Enter the master code - it just comes back asking for the master code over and over again. You know it's got to be related to Microsoft when they break more than they fix every time they put out a release.
I up graded to the latest sync and now the BT phone is unusable. When you call people, it sounds like your talking to a person in the witness protection program with a voice scrambler. Sucks because hands free is required where I live and they hand out ticket frequently for this
