Default SYNC update issues - 2014

Good morning all,

I recently upgraded my iphone to an 11 and now it won't connect to my truck. I checked on help.ford.com and confirmed that I have a new SYNC update available, but that's where I ran into serious issues and need your help. When I downloaded the zip drive and extracted it to my USB like the website said, I have a different file than what they are showing in the instructions. I have "install.lst" and the website says that I should have "DONTINDX.MSA" - pictures attached for reference. I tried plugging into my SYNC on my truck and nothing happened. Ford's customer support has been zero help unfortunately, and yesterday they advised me to either wait and try again or go to a dealer (they want $125 diagnostic fee). Any ideas? I already followed the website instructions to a T and made sure my flash drive was formatted properly, etc. Thank you in advance!

Listing some more details on your truck would help. Create a signature with the info. Do you have Sync 2 MFT, or the smaller 4 inch Sync display? The update process and files are very different between the two.

Yeah, i just did mine, although i'm not 100% convinced it updated (it said it did) but you must list what truck you have and what system? what size screen? is it the navigation version? etc.

Yep, sorry. I was confused because the files from my download didn't match the files on the website 100% but I found someone through a google search that had the same question I did. Basically, I assumed that it would automatically start the upgrade when I plugged in the USB drive, but instead I needed to go through SYNC-Media and do a manual install. Here's the instructions I used:

Yeah, so you have navigation then? (i had to do the same thing) but i'm not 100% convinced it worked as it only took 5-10 minutes including reboots etc.

I don't have navigation - i have the smaller 4" display. 2014 F-150 XL. My biggest issue was losing connectivity with my new iPhone, but it seems fine so far (only been 24 hours though)

Those are the correct files. The instructions were for sync v3 which we do not have
