Hi 2ndchance and jgrassano,

In the vehicle, press the MENU button, then scroll to SYNC SETTINGS and press OK. Scroll to SYSTEM INFO and press OK. When you scroll to the FPN number, what do you see? I'd like to verify which software you're both running.

Let me know if you don't see these options in your vehicle.

Kim

Is the S5 already paired to your navigation system, jbiloff? During the pairing process, you should see a message pop up on the phone that asks if you'd like to allow SYNC to access your phone's information. You must accept this message or the text feature will not work. Here are the steps to pair the phone: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...ync-navigation

This means you're running v4.1.2, which supports MAP (Message Access Profile). MAP is the Bluetooth profile that allows text messages to be exchanged between devices.

Make sure this setting is enabled in your system. Press the PHONE button, then scroll to SYSTEM SETTINGS and press OK. Scroll until you see ADVANCED and press OK again. Next, scroll until MAP profile appears and press OK and make sure MAP PROFILE ON is selected.

Do you see this option?

In that case, I recommend fully restoring the iPhone: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252. If you have any questions about this process, it is best to reach out to Apple for further assistance.

Mine is set to on as well. I'll probably just let it go as I don't want to restore the phone just for this. Thanks.

I completely understand where you're coming from. You know where to find me if any other questions come up!
