Default Sync and Phone issue/malfunction

Here lately, when I push the steering wheel phone icon to make a call it malfunctions. Here is what happens:

1.) push steering wheel icon and I hear: please say a command

2.) I say: Phone, call yadda yadda on cell
(as I always have)

3.) Sync repeats: Calling yadda yadda on cell

Then instead of calling yadda yadda on cell, it calls the last number in memory that I previously called.

Any thoughts on how to attack this?

Pull the fuse for Sync for 30 seconds? That's what I would try.

I have done a battery disconnect, for over 15 minutes.

It was my only thought unless it requires 30 minutes.

Another thing is try doing a master reset and re-pair the phone?

I haven't had that problem, but I'd try the Master Reset in Sync. Since you've already killed power to Sync, that's about all that's left.

FWIW, Sync and my iPhone 7 have an, um, interesting relationship; I thought it was funkiness in iOS until I used it with Sync3 in my folks' new Flex--it worked flawlessly, just like it should.

Master reset deletes a lot of settings, very annoying. Resetting APIM or even just re-pairing (to reset the phonebook) might do it.

I'd try deleting the phone and just for the hell of it, delete Sync from the phone and start fresh.
Do you allow it to download your phonebook when it's pairing?

What changed just before the problem started?
