Default Sync Music Error Note3

I did a search on this but didn't see anything that quite dealt with the probblem I'm having. I purchased a new Samsung Note 3 to replace my iPhone and when I plugged it into Sync this morning, I got an error saying that the music was protected and couldn't play. The only song it plays is the Samsung default song that is preinstalled on the phone. It will play through bluetooth fine, but I loose that ability to use the Sync function and say "Play (artist)". Anyone know a workaround or what I'm doing wrong. I have Kitkat OS and the music is not on an SD card. Thanks!

Are you using the USB 3.0 cord that came with the phone or a generic USB 2.0 cable to plug into the phone? I have noticed many times when trying to do various things with my Note 3 that unless I am using the genuine cable, sometimes things don't work.

I have said many times and probably will say many more...if you are going to listen to your own music in these trucks, use a Fat32 formatted thumb drive. I have a 32gig drive plugged into the truck and have never once had an issue. So many compatibility and matching issues with phones and Sync and where those songs came from or where you downloaded them and what crap they put in the files, etc etc etc.

Pandora or Iheartradio or whatever else you use, then use Bluetooth. If it's music of your own, use a thumb drive.

In for a subscription as I've got a Galaxy S5 with the same issue. Curious if there is anything to do other than Bluetooth.

I was using a thrid party cable. I'll try the cable that came with the phone and let you know how that goes. May have to do like you said and pick up a thumb drive. It's rather frustrating that it worked with my iPhone and now that I have gone over to Android it doesn't.

I've never seen that message, but there's no limit to the issues and nuances surrounding this confounded system. You got to stroke it just right to get it to work half way well. I have limited my interaction to my iPod and SiriusXM. I just don't have the patience for it outside of those two functions. I wish you well in your quest.

I also have the Note 3, and choose to use my IPod touch to listen to my music! The iPods plugged in to USB port and stays plugged in!

No plug in and unplug phone every time I Enter/Exit my truck! Would be more of a Pita than its worth!

Most of those are Android issues. I've been on both sides of the fence and Apple is much more smoother and well rounded. I do love the screen and customization of Android though. However if they do a larger iPhone I may be back in the Apple camp.

I don't disagree, as I've never dealt with an Android device with SYNC. My biggest SYNC issue is it's inability to recognize the USB port with the iPod plugged into it. It always defaults to Line In, requiring unplugging and replugging. So, for now, I have SiriusXM and use it 99% of the time. Updating the firm/software has been useless for this issue.

I've had the same problem and then it will tell me that it is "indexing" for hours and then i never get to listen to my iPod

Download Sync My ITunes for your PC, then run it with your Ipod Plugged into your pcs USB port!

Its a Fix for the Indexing error! Worked for my truck!
