Default Sync and Iphone 4

3 weeks ago I took my truck on vacation and was expecting to be able to play either ITunes, Pandora or Spotify through my USB connection. However, no matter what I tried I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help (besides buy a new phone)?

Go to syncmyride.com in the technology section, they have videos and other info on how to use it. I now they support Pandora for sure and probably the others as well .

You can also hit the voice button, then say Bluetooth audio and it should start playing.

Don't use the USB input with your phone (or anything else with a screen). It will cause error codes that will eventually make it quit working. The USB input is great for thumb drives but shouldn't be used with iPhones or iPods etc.

I have a 64gig micro USB thumb drive with thousands of mp3s on it and I leave it plugged in. It works great.

Use Bluetooth for streaming music from your iPhone.

Huh? Can you elaborate on this? I've been using my iPhone 4S plugged into the USB to play Pandora at least twice a day for the past 16 months. I've not received an error code yet and it still works, so when will it stop working?

I have used via usb and bluetooth with my iPhone & iPad in the 11 & 12 f150's without ever getting codes. There is also an iheart auto radio app that works with the Ford sync and mytouch systems.

I've been using my 160gb iPod v5 in my 2011 since day one, only one problem with it, had to let sync re index one time to restore voice search. Support recommended not turning off truck with iPod plugged into USB. Haven't had any issues since following this recommendation.

I heart and pandora apps are not available or the 2011 model years, ford decided it wasn't worth the effort.
