Default Stupid SYNC

2012 F150 non-Sony with SYNC.

Two issues:

1. Most of the time when I make or receive calls the display says "privacy" and I have to pick up the phone and turn the privacy off. Kind of defeats the point of SYNC. Phone worked great for about 2 months then started this crap.

2. USB works like it should about 10% of the time, it will: Lock up, say songs are protected (they are not) say the drive is not playable (or some crap like that), forget where it was after a phone interruption and so on. This is a correctly formatted drive with nothing but MP3's on it (does the exact same thing when I tried a different brand drive).

Checked SYNC my ride and it says I am on V4.0.2. Any ideas I can try before I have to waste my time taking it to the dealer?

TIA

If this is a unresolved issue is anyone perusing the Lemon Law because if it, or are people just living with it?

This is just insane if this is an issue they cannot resolve. My wife has a crappy $80 Pioneer radio in here van that has USB drive that works flawlessly.

I have, unfortunately, learned to live with it. I just dont use the sync anymore. I spend more time cussing at it than anything so I gave up. Tried to update it through the thumb drive/usb route which only resulted in more foul language. My wife has a 2011 escape and she uses her sync all the time....flawlessly.

My 2010 sync worked perfectly. When I bought a 2012 I had the dealer sync my phone and it worked great. Then my phone went on the blink and it was time to upgrade. Same type of phone, just a newer model. I couldn't sync it and so I took it to the dealer yesterday. They couldn't get it to work either, said it was incompatible with my truck. They claimed they tried other phones and could get them to work. I don't want to buy another phone, this one cost $200 bucks. So what do I do? Guess I could go to the Verizon store where I bought the phone and see if they could make it work.

If you just got the phone will Verizon swap it? Don't they have a 30 day thing if you don't like the phone?

Yeah but you have to pay a $35 restocking fee, at least that's what I was told a little over a year ago.

I have no issues with mine yet, but I only have 3000km on it, hopefully I got lucky, however the hands free on the Rams is horrible, the damn thing could never understand what I was saying. And my iPod would lock up all the time.

May not help but mine was acting up doing weird stuff. I reset to factory defaults and it seems to have fixed my problems.
