Default Stumpped on a couple things

Im having a couple of problems that currently got me stumpped.

1) Car starter sometimes starts the truck and sometimes it won't. Lights will flash and horn will go off. The I double tap the car starter buttom and it doesnt start. (factory car starter) Sometimes it will start but can not start it a second time after same problem will flash but not start.

2) Sync seems to degenerate and stop working all together. Starting from people having a hard time hearing me in the mic to bluetooth not being able to connect to any bluetooth device. To fix this i have to pull the Negative terminal to reset the system. This has been happening me since I got the truck just not as bad as the sync system not allowing me to Hook my phone up. (once in a while does shut stereo when turning key to off position saying "shutting system down to perserve battery.")

Anyone have any advice that can help me solve these before I take it To the Stealership.

2011 F150 XLT w/ stock stereo sync and pac for line outs. No other aftermarket electronics sides from 6 channel amp.

Not sure on your remote start issue, but when I had issues with Sync I would pull the fuse I believe number 4. Leave it out for a min, then put it back in. Usually cleared it up. Could also require an update. That sorted out most of my issues. Could also try disconnecting your battery too.

Hi Ezekial,

The master reset is a great troubleshooting step to take if your SYNC system isn't running as smoothly as usual. It sets everything back to the factory default settings so you can start from scratch. Here are the instructions: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...ter-reset-sync

If this continues to happen often even after you've tried the reset, I suggest having your dealer take a look.

My remote start on my '13 f150 sucks it will maybe start 1/4 of the time I try to start it. My '13 super duty works about 3/4 of the time. I don't know if the factory ones just suck or what??

I agree with trying a master reset. Also check on syncmyride.Com and see if there is an update available.

As far as the starter issue maybe it is sensing something and not wanting to start. Ex, open door or unlocked?

Could also be the batteries in your fob with your starter.

Sounds like something got reset when you removed the battery.

I agree with you about remote start. The remote start on my '13 fx4 works about 50% of the time. Lights blink, horns blows and nothing. Sometimes it will actually try to start but then stops. It's like the starter engages, but just hits long enough to turn the engine over once and it sounds as if it locks up. Drives me nuts.
