Default Stereo upgrade

So I did the Kicker speaker upgrade and it made a difference, but I want to kick it up a notch. I don't want to blow the windows out or anything and I don't want a sub or to replace the head unit. What are some suggestions for an amp? Would that make a difference. The weird thing is the front speakers sound awesome, but the rear still sound like garbage. I think if I could just get the rears up to speed it would be perfect. Thoughts?

That's an all in one system. The speakers and sub are already receiving enough power. You have to almost double the amount of amplifier power to notice it being twice as loud which the speakers might not like. You also don't want the rears to be just as loud as the front from a sound quality stand point as well because you want as much of the music to be produced in front of you as possible.

So is it normal for the fronts to sound fantastic with tons of bass and great clarity, but the rears sound like cheap clock radio speakers? They are the same speakers, but the sound quality is night and day different from front to back. Back in HS I had a pretty decent system in my little Celica. Installed an equalizer that really balanced it out and made the rear 6X9s sound great. I was wondering of something like that might help.

The best thing to do, would be to get a small amp. Something around 400RMS for all 4 speakers. Difference would be night and day. Rockford foscate is a good choice. This fits behind the rear seats. Its small but the sound is amazing.

I would never recommend a plug and play system if actual sound quality or spl was your goal. It's a plug and play and forget system for people who just want something better than the complete crap system the trucks come with.

Definitely check out the Rockford R400, nice amplifier and verified will fit behind rear seat without cutting into the rear cab cover. The amp will deliver right at 100 w RMS to each speaker and it will sound awesome.
