Default Step bar extensions?

I've found some threads about extension brackets for running boards, but I can't find the same for step bars. On my 2013 XLT Supercrew, the bars simply don't extend far enough out to help get out of the truck. So I end up sliding out and I'm sure this is going to prematurely wear out the upholstery.

Has anyone tabricated an extension or is there an off-the-shelf solution?

Amp Research power boards. One of the best mods I've added to my truck. They deploy when you open the door and retract when the door is closed. Down and out about 4" or so.

Aren't these bolded phrases the same thing? People have lots of names for them.

There seems to be two basic styles of running boards. The flat ones that I see called running boards and the round ones that I've seen called step bars. They seem to have different types of mounting brackets. So the posts I've read about fabricating extension brackets for running boards don't seem to apply to the step bars I have on my truck. Hoping someone has crossed this bridge before.

^That's different at least. And still affordable.

Mounting changes with the truck. The steps have to match to the truck. You may have seen discussion of different years/trucks.

Interesting. I assumed that any of the running boards/step bars from a 2013 Supercrew (or other years within this model group) would fit my truck, as long as they came with the original brackets.

But my question remains: has anyone seen or fabricated a step bar extension?

Quick search. I've seen it before on here, but don't recall if this was the one or not. Note the OP of this thread hasn't posted in 5 years.

The only ones I've seen in the market were specific for that company's steps. Like, Amp has made them for their power steps, but they wouldn't do anything for your stock steps. Any others are probably DIY fabrication like Steve's link.
