Default steering wheel clunk?!?!?!?!

well I have 200 miles left until warranty is up. I think I am on my 10th or 11th time in the shop to fix this. dealer keeps looking at it but is not coming up with an answer. I sent the link to the video from the sticky thread and he said they already replaced that part.

Friday it is going back in the shop... if not fixed it is going bye bye. I was talking with my dad the other night (who has a 2010KR and is having issues as well). he has owned 29 fords since 1950. I have owned 9. I really am not keen on another one if they are not going to build a good product.

I sure hope they can fix this problem as I have been driving this thing for almost 2 years with this going on!

So, describe the clunk? Does it happen at a particular time?

I've tried to have mine replaced 4 times and they use the bull**** excuses like: "Your larger tires contribute to the problem" (And I ask how, the dealer doesn't give me an answer), "Washboard roads make everything rattle" and "That's normal operation for electric steering." It's getting to the point where I can hear it constantly rattling on the highway.

Why does Ford offer warranty if they constantly make excuses to not fix an obvious defective design? C'MON FORD!!!!!

I would just scan the sticky thread untill they have an actual fix....I did spray white lithium grease on the 3 connecting areas on shaft...might of helped alittle with the movement in wheel but it still wants to go right.

it happens all the time. it feels like there is a little troll banging on the steering column. another way to describe it is on my 1984 F150 with horrible shocks you can feel it all the way through the steering column.

gillysmi,

Let me lend you a hand. PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info, and I'll look at options.

Ashley

Hi HardcoreFXFour,

I'd like to look at some options for you. Please PM me your VIN and odometer reading; I'll see what I can do.

well just stopped at the dealer.... same thing they cannot tell me anything is wrong. he said that he contacted ford and is still waiting to here from them.

they gave me a truck to drive to see if that is any different. 2011 EB crew with 20's. it does not drive very good but better than mine does.

I am going to proceed with Ashley's help but more than likely going to get rid of it as it bothers me enough when I drive it to get something different.
