Default Squeak in dash--Please Help!

Holy cow I have an annoying squeak. It comes and goes on my 2010 F150 Crew 4x4. It's been an issue about since the truck was new. It now has 28k on it and I cannot pinpoint where the squeak is coming from. Had it at the dealership numerous times to no avail. It's like the truck knows to stop squeaking when I drive to the dealer. I was able to get the Service Manager in the truck with me early one morning and he heard it. Didn't have an appointment, so he had me come back the following week.....nothing, no squeak. Couple days later............squeak.

Sounds like it is in the dash. An annoying squeak that sounds like a bird chirping, or someone running their nails against a chalkboard. It can be heard at all speeds; driving down the driveway, on the highway, backroads, and when I accelerate from a stop.

Anyone else had/have this problem? ANY ideas on things I can check? I love my truck but this is annoying as heck. I have little to no faith in the local dealer.

I seen a post a while back about the covers right in front of the heater holes. they pop out, take a look at those or at the cover under the matt where the usb2 connection is maybe it loose.

Default squeaks when cold?

Mine used to too.

Under the hood, next to the hood hinges there are two styrofoam things that are supposed to block engine compartment noise (I guess)

Them styrofoam things were squeaking when the truck was cold. I removed them and covered them with duct tape anywhere they came in contact with part of the truck. No more squeak.

Mine has a squeak every once in a while. I discovered it was the passenger side sun visor clip. If I hold the visor it quits. I haven't messed with it enough yet to make it permanently stop, but like you said somedays it does it, and others it doesn't.

Mine had a squeak too. Try pulling the little piece of plastic trim firm but gentle above your steering wheel column, in front of your gauge cluster. it spans the width of the gauges but its very thin and not much support. you can pull it away from the clear plastic and see if that eliminates the problem.

Mine was/is the passenger side seat belt connection.
The female part. Apparently, it doesn't always click back when the belt is removed.
You can tell by tapping the side of it.
If this is the problem, it will make the noise just by tapping it.
The answer is probably a little wd-40.
Just haven't got around to spraying it yet.
Good luck.

Wow thanks guys for the responses. I will check each one soon. And I think I forgot to mention that cold weather makes it much more prevalent. Summer time no squeak. Just a stinky AC. Thanks again, will report back.

What year is your truck? I looked for these and couldn't find what you explained.

On another note, I checked what everyone suggested and did notice the air vents squeaked when I took my thumb and moved them around. I squirted WD40 in them. Will see if this is it. I would much rather smell WD than have a squeak. Will report back.
