Squeak in dash--Please Help!
I know this is an old thread but winter is back and so is my squeak. It is worse than ever and of course I am now out of warranty. I have searched and used threads as reference but no luck. Anyone with something helpful to add? I appreciate all responses.
Rightside,
Look for the Coastaltech Lockpic install video on Youtube. It details how to pull the console back and slowly remove dash pieces to get to the nav/radio. You might want to try to remove all those pieces and the go for a quick drive to see if the squeak is still there.
Just a thought.
It could be there is a rubber pad or damper that is missing on your truck. Or two pieces of plastic rubbing each other.

I think I located it. I took the tray off that is on the dash. Neither screw "felt right" when I backed them out and one even looked to have been stripped a little. Been driving around with the tray off and no squeak. When I put the tray back on, I will tighten the screws real good and see if that makes a difference.
Rightside, did it work? I have an awful squeaking in my 2011 F150 Plat SCREW, and it's in the center/right dash. Can't tell exactly where it's coming from. Waaay worse in the cold. Did your fix work? If so, can you describe a little bit more about what you did?
I have a 2010 Plat 4x4. U have always had a rattle or squeak that I have had to trace down over the years. Especially with a lifted truck. I currently am squeak free but eventually one will surface. I just see it as the price for a big lifted truck. If it were a Lexus or Porsche, I would not tolerate it. I have over the years been in the habit of routinely spraying wd40 on parts and hinges and crevices that I thought might give me a problem. Even do it on suspension and bushings just prophylacticly and think it helps. Anyway, I hear ya, because it is annoying as hell sometimes .
