Default Is something missing?

2011 F-150 Lariat
I looked at numerous pictures of 2011 F-150 Lariats, and some have something here, some don't. There are two slits that give me the impression that a plate holder was there at one time. Should something be here, or just different on different trucks?

It’s supposed to be open if it is an ecoboost, 5.0,3.7 and 6.2 have a plate holder there.

i'm curious to why the two intentions were there in the first place if the previous models came with it blank? they didn't show the lower grille until the 2014 model. it's about $50 on ebay.

hood decal? mine came with it. your previous owner must have removed it. they sell some on ebay or go to a local decal/wrap shop and have them make one for you.

Not necessarily. That space is empty if the truck was delivered and sold in state that doesn't require a front plate.

OP, you can always purchase a grill or something else to fill that spot.

I can get one on eBay for $10, but I am going to see if the dealership happens to have one tomorrow... If not, I can live without it for a while.

it's meant to be open if you have an Ecoboost F150.
