Default So Get This...

I have been waiting anxiously for my new truck to arrive since early November. I had my temporary vehicle traded for an agreed dollar amount upon time of arrival. I discovered that my truck was to arrive on Monday the 19th of December. I have already bought thousands of dollars of parts that I'm going to add to this build. The last thing the dealer said was "Take care of OUR car for us". "I will" I said... So my wife wanted to go shopping at the outlet malls and see the Christmas lights in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg TN. I'm in the parking lot parked, getting the kids out of the car, when... this kid just takes out my rear quarter panel, taillights and pushed the front right corner into the parking lot pillar. I was mortified!!! I get home and call the dealer and they were like "Well, your new truck is here but, if your vehicle has been wrecked I don't know if we can still trade." So I immediately went down to the dealership. When they saw it was minor they are still willing to work my deal. However, I now have to wait on the insureance people to get around to writing me a check to give to the dealer for the repairs to my previous car. And I have NO idea how long that will take. So my new truck is just sitting at the dealership on hold until the insurance people (Who in my experience take their good sweet time getting around to doing anything) get around to writing me a check.

Thankfully you were able to hold someone accountable for jacking your old truck up. Hopefully the process will go quickly - your new truck looks great! Good luck!

Insurance choice really matters. With my State Farm plan, I just go down to the nearest office and they assess and cut a check right there on the spot.

I may have to use my insurance and let them write me a check because my $750 customer cash is about the run out on the 3rd. If they don;t get it to me I'm gonna stick em for that and another car payment on my was to be traded vehicle, rental car, and diminished value from accident report.

Wow talk about crappy timing! That really sucks! But its good that the dealership is still willing to work with you and that you don't have to pay anything out of your own pocket.

Having your truck sit there like that just waiting is brutal, I drove past mine every day for a week on my way to work cause the dealership is right on the highway while I waited for it to be ready. Not fun!! But when you get it and take the first drive all those problems and frustrations will disappear.

My insurance company (USAA) pays almost immediately.

My girlfriends car was keyed last week(whole passenger side....front QP, both doors, and rear QP). We dropped it off on Monday at the shop, they had a rental car waiting for her there. Shop has been paid already, rental gets billed directly to the insurance company.

Picking up the car tomorrow from the shop and leaving the rental there for someone to pick up.

Very painless. Had very similar situation when our house was broken into in January when we were in South America. Once I had the list of things taken, along with what I thought they were worth, I had the money direct deposited into my account the next day.

I was given more than I asked for (by about $900) and 1 month later when we realized something else was missing, they gave me that money into my account within 24 hours.

I strongly suggest USAA for anyone that is able to use them.
