That throttle delay sucks , hated it till I got a tuner

Bull****, before I did it, mine would stumble at low speed take off and there is a noticeable difference at cruizing highway speeds.

Throttle Calibration

Throttle calibration can substantially improve throttle responsiveness over "factory standard." Many people notice what appears to be sluggish throttle response or a "dead area" at initial accelerator depression. Throttle calibration can take care of these.

1) turn the key in the ON position (don't start the engine)
2) press the gas pedal down slowly all the way down
3) let go of the gas pedal fast so it come back up
4) turn key into the OFF position
repeat steps 1-4 two more times then start engine.

Most drivers notice an immediate change in throttle response, but depending on your driving style, you may need to repeat this procedure periodically due to the computer's adaptive programming. You likely need to repeat this procedure any time the battery is disconnected.
Dude, you're like the F-150 whisperer from seeing the positive results of this procedure. I going out to right mine now, and even going to give it a try on the wife's Mustang. Both (5.0's) have been exhibiting the same lack of throttle response for a while now. Thanks.

Worked perfectly. Now I can make a turn without squealing rubber(unless I want to). I run a 5* tune on an SCT X4 from Stage 3. Everything improved except tip in on the throttle, and the calibration solved it. I passed it on to a couple other guys I work with who also have F150's and have the same issue, so they are going to try it too.

Did the procedure on both vehicles. Drove the wife Mustang GT today, and it has better low speed response (turning onto other roads, etc.). I'll get it out by myself soon, and test the higher speed response.

I'm taking the F-150 on a short road trip to her Mother's house tomorrow, and expect the same results.

Thanks again for the tip.

OK, this little round trip of approx. 200 miles was made. MPG 22.2, throttle response was much much better. An added plus is, with better throttle response comes better transmission shifts. And this ain't in my head either.

Thanks again Sirikenewtron.
