Hah don't move to MS then. Here, you have 7 days from the date of purchase to get your tag. There is no mailing it to you. You take your butt to the tax office, pay an outrageous price for it, then walk out of the door and put the tag on. The sad day comes quick here.

When I bought my 2010 last Nov. in Fla. they just transferred my tag from my old truck to the F150. And the dealers in most counties have internet access to the tag offices. No wait, no hassle. So I had no "sad day" just happy ones.

the dealer put mine on before I even left the parking lot

but then again I just transferred the tag from my last vehicle to it anyway, lol

the newness is only gone when you need to install an air freshener... I threw one in my truck about 2 weeks ago; saddest day ever

How long does it take you guys to get a plate?!?! Up here you can just go to the ministry of transportation and get one right then. I picked up my truck with a new plate on it. No waiting at all. Even if you do need a temp(trip permit) here they give you actual plates with a little "T" sticker on it. They're good for 10 days but not needed on new vehicles. When you make them your plates the just give you a new sticker.

Interesting how each person looks at the plates being put on. I had a call from the Court House last Friday that my paperwork had arrived from MN and I had one last thing to sign brfore I could put the tags off my car onto my truck. That was a happy day for me.

I was happy to put my plates on my truck, as it was one of the things that signified he was mine. And I've had my truck for 6 months (well it will be in 4 days) and the new car smell is still there. I have people comment on it every single time someone gets in.
