Haha no I will not go for warranty fraud. I know when I remove the steps it's gonna look worse then what it doesn't now. I'm just wondering if I should just wire wheel it as best I can and then get it over to a shop to fix. It's just gonna get worse this winter and I refuse for that to happen! Any ideas?

Cab of the truck ( scab ) just that area, I see no reason to paint the whole door, or body line down

Just cab corners? And rockers? Off the top of my head, probably 4 hours labor repair time per side if it's just surface rust. Not including the R+I time. 3 hours per side for paint.
7 hours a side total.
14x$50 labor rate(<will be different depending in where you live)= $700
Maybe. That's a ROUGH estimate though, Without seeing it in person to see how extensive it is.
