Default reverse warning with tail gate down or trailer attached

My 2014 Platinum F150 alarms in reverse when towing. Dash display indicates no trailer hooked up and gives me no options to disable.

You have the option of dismissing the alarm when the screen appears as you put the vehicle in reverse.

Thanks but I receive no options to disable alarm. Just doesn’t recognize the trailer.

The reverse sensors are disabled automatically when it detects the trailer. What kind of trailer?
Do you get the option to disable the backup sensors when a trailer isn't hooked up?

Are you using the 7 pin or 4 Pin plug? Trailer detection does not work with the 4 pin plug.

It’s a 4 pin on a boat trailer. Hasn’t given me an option to disable with or without a trailer hooked up. Is there a bypass if using a 4 pin?

You should get a message on the dash with the option to disable the warning. My 14 XLT does. Once disabled it won't give the alarm again until the engine is shut off and restarted, Then you have to re-set it next time you go to reverse. I don't know why yours isn't showing up. Possibly in the settings with the onboard display.

My '12 XLT does the same as described by marshall. To clarify though, the warning shows up in the HUD where the gauges are (just in case there is any confusion). You can also go into the personalized setting (I think it's called "my key") and set up a profile where the sensors are turned off. Be advised though, they will never beep again until you go in and turn them back on.

I have to tap my mileage reset button to temporarily disable the back up alarm. When I put my truck in reverse, the information box in the middle of the gauge cluster will say
"push to turn off". Look there next time you put it in reverse. Or like what was said above, just go into settings and turn it off when you're towing.
