Default Regular or Premium

What are ecoboost owners using?
Regular or premium gas? Has anyone noticed a difference in mileage and overall performance between the 2?

Thanx

i noticed a 2l/100km decrease in fuel consumption. not nearly enough to justify the additional cost.

Well here is my reasoning...

Regular unleaded here is 86 octane.

So at Sam's Club I have two choices. 86 or 91 octane. The price of Sam's club 91 octane is cheaper than midgrade 88 at the other stations so I go with 91.

If we had 87 octane around here (NM) I would use that.

Premium, the manual even recommends it in hot conditions and while towing. I get better fuel mileage as well. My theory was if I couldn't afford a extra 10 bucks a tank of gas I couldn't afford the truck lol.

When I first got mine, I ran premium as I thought it gave me better mileage. However, I had a 2000 mile trip where I ran premium for half of it and standard for the other half. The entire trip was almost identical temperature and wind conditions. The difference in mileage was statistically identical. After that, I've been running regular 87 octane. If I know I'm going to tow something heavy, I'd run premium as recommended, but financially I don't see that it makes sense to run the higher octane.

93 oct here. I see a mileage increase and a power increase also. The throttle lag disappears when I use premium.

I run Premium.

Here our premium is 91 octane and its non ethanol. I think regular is 85 and 10% ethanol.

87 Octane; I get 17-18 mpg freeway with 34" Duratrac tires (i.e. more rolling resistance than stock tires).
