I never said it was after market, I said it was either a dealer or customer add on eg; Ford accessory OR aftermarket.
It was made for Ford by someone else. Ford puts their part number on it and if it's installed on the assembly line, it is OEM, otherwise it's just a Ford accessory NOT OEM. What part of Original Equipment Manufactured confuses you so?

So what you’re saying is if I put the Raptor 4.10 gears in my truck that it’s not OEM, but aftermarket? 😂😂😂
I appreciate everyone's help. I wasn't expecting to start an argument over OEM, and I think OES is the term for part made by and to Ford's specifications but wasn't installed on the assembly line. Still a ford part, just wasn't put in until later...maybe? Either way. Not worth fighting over.

Every part was made for Ford by someone else.
OE lets start with just that. Original Equipment,....... the M simply means Manufacture. If the vehicle comes off the assembly line with, (for the sake of this thread the VSS) then it is OE (Original Equipment) That is all the OEM stands for and you're dead wrong about Ford buying every part from someone else. They make, (Manufacture) a lot of it in house. Most of the electronics is outsourced.
My truck did NOT roll off the assembly line with the aforementioned VSS. I added it and you know where I bought it from? www.accessories.ford.com Thus it is an add on accessory and NOT OEM.
Understand now?
I'm sure I don't know what I'm talking about. I only worked for Ford for 11 years so take it with a grain of salt.
