It’d be better to figure out exactly what it is before you start disconnecting things. Has your check engine light come on?

Be careful, might clip the wrong wire and well, you know.

Truck has zero issues, no check engine light no warning messages. Just a blinking light the has never blinked before. Starts, runs there is a wire running off the battery with a fuse on it. Pulled the fuse , and the light was still flashing. Thinking maybe that's as long as it's not an issue I won't mess with it...just really curious about what it's for.

Looks like it’s an option for the OEM Ford perimeter plus vehicle security system. I have one in mine an added the optional security light.

Open your driver side door and pull off the access panel. See if there’s a box attached to your vent tube or somewhere near that. It’ll have a few wire harnesses and an adjustment ****. Most likely you can trace the wire from that blinking light to it. (It should be the red and blue wires)

It’s early and dark, but here’s some pics of mine.

That is exactly what the light looks like for the Ford VSS as stated by fseries54303. It is 100% OEM. I have it, installed it myself. I can attach the manual after I boot up my computer.

Installer can put LED wherever they want - I put mine on the steering wheel cowling after removing the bottom section.

Edit: I have attached the instructions. Note the section entitled Security Indicator LED Mounting.

On page 7 of 25, it explains how to test the system, including how the LED should perform (20 seconds solid as system arms, then flashing when it is armed) as well as how to test the system.

Interesting, wonder if maybe OPs system wasn't working before. Maybe the bodyshop plugged it back in. Or, possibly reset it by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery?

Dealer or customer add on, NOT OEM unless equipped from the factory. I added the VSS and opted to not get the optional led. OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer.

it's probably the Ford VSS. I have it too and that's probably where they installed the optional LED. https://accessories.ford.com/alarm.html

I mounted two of them here.
