Question Rack & Pinion Leaking???

I have 2011 F150 2wd Super Crew Cab with a 302/5.0 with about 130,000 miles +/- on it, and the Rack & Pinion has started leaking.

Is this a common problem?

Can you just replace the seals to fix this & if so who is the best supplier?

If I have to replace the whole Rack & Pinion who is the best source for a good remanufactured one?

I don't know, I just know that whatever controls my steering is leaking something.

If you have any engine besides the 6.2 it's an electric rack, 6.2 has a regular hydraulic rack. Most cases it's cheaper to get a reman rack than having to buy the special tools required to replace the seals.

He says 5.0 in his first post. Do they have any fluid if they're electric?

Good catch, I missed that, yes he has an electric rack, no fluid to leak out. There's some light grease in there but it shouldn't be enough to leak out.

Ok, so y'all have peaked my curiosity... I had noticed a couple of small spots under my truck and at 1st didn't think they were even coming from my truck. But to just make sure, I put some white cardboard under it one night and the next morning there were spots straight across right under what looks like a rack & pinion, so I just assumed that, that is where the leak was. If that electric Rack has nothing to leak, then what is there that could leak? Whatever it is, it is not engine, oil, trans fluid, nor coolant, it was almost clear and did't have much of an odor, but it was an oil type consistency.
