How are you guys getting the suction cup mount to stay stuck?
I've had mine for about 3 months, and while it was cold there was no issue.
It's been getting warm the last few days, into the 60's and 70's, and the damn thing won't stay on the window. It was fine when it was cold.
I am thinking of coating the suction cup with a bit of clear silicone to try to glue it to the glass.
I want it to stay on, but be easily removed if necessary.
Are there any type of mounts that use stick on fasteners, like the lock strips that mount ezpass transponders?
I have an Anker Roav C1 which uses an adhesive mount. I also have an Anker Roav C2 which uses a suction cup and for the short period i used it, i never had an issue with it coming off. It actually looks like it's the same one from the Insignia.
I've gone through 5-6 dash cams over the years and got tired of the stupid windshield mounts and running the power lines. Every camera was different.
So, I made a universal mount that can be modified to mount any dash cam I please. Plus, I use it to mount a monitor that I use when pulling a trailer.
No sure how yours mounts to the suction cup as it looks slightly similart to gopro, but I use a knock-off gopro with a gopro suction mount and it's not failed once. Pretty good quality and worked while being used on the outside of my door filming at 70MPH. I strictly use it as a dashcam and mount now.
I bought a mount that goes around the rear view mirror post, works great and keeps the camera mostly hidden behind the mirror and out of my line of sight.
