Congrats PP!!! Sweet truck. What made you pull the trigger now and not 7 months from now for the new body style (sorry if you already answered this)?

I wanted to see how the '15's look in person first and then see how the aluminum hold's up in everyday use. Never know what can happen after I see them on the road!

Getting a first year model can really be hit or miss, especially if it's a complete redesign. I have been asked by friends why I didn't wait for the new model. I told them that the new truck looks great online, but I rather wait and see if there will be any problems or recalls with the new platform. Good move on getting the 13.

IMO, I think you made a great decision.
This body style is at it's best mechanically, and with the hid's looks wise as well.
I know I don't want to go thru the 04/05 new model bugs, again.
Even tho It's been 10 yrs, it feels like yesterday.

Thank's...I had a '04 Lariat I bought new in Jan '04 that had a few problem's...had to get a new rear end and window regulator problem's. Overall it was a good truck and I kept it 7 yrs. Had the 3v 5.4 which was trouble free the 100k miles I ran it.

I don't want to start a war here so everyone just relax.

On to my question: How do you like the eco now? I know you had the 5.0 before.

I've been impressed with the Ecoboost since I picked up my son in law's '13 Lariat(dealer trade) drove it back and thought "wow" this engine is nice. He has 10K trouble free miles so far and I jumped at the chance to get the Platinum with the Eco engine. Didn't really want the 3.31 gear's but so far they pull pretty good and hopefully help out a little with the fuel mileage on a few long trip's planned. Only have close to 300 miles on it and averaging 16mpg(combination driving and some idling).

Truck is 2 week's old today and only has a little over 700 miles on it but the mileage is going up to the mid 17's in combination driving...really impressed with the low end pull of the 3.5 even with the 3.31 gear's!The 17.5 even includes driving on the beach yesterday to try out the 4x4 system.

I forgot that you got the 3.31s PawPaw. I too have that gearing, but my 6.2mile commute to work doesn't help my mileage much. I'll be curious to see how yours does.
