I think the EB may be more suited for what I bought it for...long distance trip's. I notice in town mileage does drop pretty quickly compared to highway driving. Most of the highway's around here are 55 and 65 mph limit's so that help's too. I retired over 2 yrs ago so no more 100 mile a day commutes for me!

I wanted to trade my Lariat for a Platinum a few months ago but the dealer wouldn't give me what I wanted for the trade in. Oh well, I'm happy with what I've got. 46,000 miles and not 1 problem! But I did like the Platinum very much, especially the running boards.
Nice truck, congrats.

Thank's...nothing wrong with the Lariat's either. I just had the chance to get this Platinum and it jumped into my lap! Wife has a lot less trouble getting into the truck with the retractable running board's...I like them too.

Those running boards are awesome. If my next truck is not a platinum that will be the first thing I add to it.

The running board's do give the truck a clean look when retracted.

Default Your new Plat.. Congrats!

Hey PawPaw,

One of your Platty's twins lives in Austin, TX and I even have the BakFlip cover and tint you are planning too add. One other mod I added was the rear wheel liners which I think are needed, especially with that silver frame showing through the rear wheels.

Great trucks! I got rid of a 2005 F150 FX4 that was lifted with 35's and 4.56 rear end (got it for a great price several years before) and picked up the exact same truck as yours.

Next day headed to Santa Fe, NM and those were the easiest 1400+ miles round trip I ever drove! I averaged 17.6mpg running 75+ almost the entire way and I almost had enough gas to make it one way on one tank!

Great truck and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Geaux Tiga's !! ('79 Alum)

PawPaw, like Austin said you'll be surprised how the rear wheel well liners will clean up the open area around the wheels. I certainly like the looks of mine much better.

Also, like MawMaw the Wifey (who is vertically challenged) likes the AMP boards much better than the fixed boards.

Looks good. I have the same milage on mine and I am getting 16 also. I will admit I am babying the throttle, but the last few days I have been getting in it a bit and still at about 16 mpg. I love the engine also, so smooth and quiet. I kinda miss the presence of the V8, but I am being honest, the quiet truck is growing on me, the thing is a missile when you hit the gas. I have to admit I love the whistles form the turbos. I had the sunroof open the last few days and I love listening to them little turbos wind up.

Temp's been in the low 80's so I took a ride to Avery Island...home of Tabasco Hot Sauce! This was taken at Jungle Gardens.
