Default Programmer question

This may be a super dumb question but I have a 2011 fx4 5.0, and my friend has a 2007 fx4 5.4. He has an edge programmer he's willing to give me but I don't know if its compatible. The cord plugs into the PCM but I don't want to screw anything up. All the research I've done gives me mixed answers. Anyone know?

Yep... Figured that, but had to ask since it was going to be free.

What if you have 1 tuner sct livewire and 2 3.5l ecoboosts, can you use the same tuner for the trucks?

^ Yes but the SCT device can only be loaded onto one ECU at any given time. In order to load software onto vehicle #2, the tune from vehicle #1 must first be removed.

^ Correction. I'm not familiar with the 'Livewire' version. I have a SCT 3015 and the tune can only be loaded onto one vehicle at a time.

Same deal with livewire. Can only be used on one vehicle at a time. In order to switch vehicles, original vehicle has to be put back to stock oem tune via program vehicle restore to stock option and once that's done, that unlocks the tuner from that original vehicle so it can be used again on another car/truck and that can be done up to max of 5 times
