Default Program new keys with only 1 orginal

New-to-me truck, 2012 xlt. Only came with one key that has lock/unlock/panic buttons. I just purchased the RS kit from Fairway Ford. Can I use Forscan (already have a 3 year license) to deactivate the old key and programe the two new ones I am getting with the RS kit?
Ive been reading thru the forscan application thread, but cannot find a reference for programming new keys with only 1 original. Appreciate any help.

Just remember that if the process with Forscan goes south, you’re looking at a tow to the dealer for them to get you going again.

The dealership would use the same process though, right? Forscan and programming?

No they use IDS:

Integrated Diagnostic System
About Ford Dealer Scan Tools. The Ford IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System) is a laptop-based scan tool. It is the current scan tool for 1996-to-present Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. IDS first started in 1996 using a vehicle communication interface or module called the VCM.

I would think you would want and could kept the original key. Obviously RS won't work but the key will still unlock and start the truck.

unless I'm mistaken, you can have up to 8 RFID keys and 4 remotes.

Still searching. I believe I can erase all keys with forscan. Then I can program the two new keys using the procedure outlined in the PATs procedure on the forscan site like cycling the key on/off 8 times (obviously a little more to it that).
