What?
Leave the truck running and lock it with the keypad. Or shut it off and re-remote start it.
What's a pit stop mode???

That's the one thing I miss on my factory F-150 remote start since I have DEI products on my others. The ability to keep it running and pull the key out.

It's called secure idle, Our squad cars use them here in socal. I'm sure there thousands of other agencies who use them as well. Push a button on the dash and remove the keys the car stays running and all the feature work as well until you hit the brake or attempt to shift it

That's not a factory device, must be something added on by the department.

It's an add on. There are several different manufacturers.

If you have keyless entry via the number pad, You could do the same thing.

Correct not factory but it's the closet thing to pit stop mode beside remote starting or installing and aftermarket remote starter for the guys who don't have it

Thanks everyone. I guess the better terminology would be the SECURE IDLE MODE. I used it often to stop in to grab a few items at the convenience store, or post office. Simply and hit the Ford remote starter key fob and remove the key. No need to re-start the vehicle every time. Once you get back simply unlock the door and put the key to RUN and your good to go, so long as you don't touch the brake pedal or the vehicle will SHUT DOWN and go into FULL ALARM. I had this system installed from my Ford dealer on my E350,( supposedly this was the Ford factory Gold system which included the start and alarm ). Then simply hit the unlock button and insert the key and turned it to the RUN position. I was hoping someone might know how to get around currently silly system without having to buy another remote starter unit or component.
