Nothing wrong with wanting to tune your truck, as not all of us can afford those fancy cars above when we feel the need for speed.

With that being said, I have wanted a tune for a while now and keep putting it off for cheaper convenience / appearance mods. Towing mirrors, led internal lights, bed lights, remote start, etc.

Also I believe Soupster mentioned "work" truck, so I think a Corvette may not fit the bill for his weekly 9-5 commute.

Full exhaust ( headers, mid pipe, catback ) with a custom tune would be the most power adding without digging into the engine or going forced induction.

Also, possibly a gear change? depends on what gears your truck has.... my truck has 3.73 and i am considering going to 4.10 (although i have the base 3.7 with a very long powerband and wide trans gear ratio) ..... so if you got 3.55 or 3.31 it may be worth while to do a gear swap up to 3.73 or 4.10...?

For gears, always go at least 2 up to get the most out of your investment.

(3.31 to 3.73)
(3.55 to 4.10)

I alternate between both. Though I've put more money towards performance thus far and still have a long ways to go. I don't think of it as just a truck. Can't afford to have multiple vehicles or have a place for them. As far as I am concerned, a truck is the perfect vehicle for performance and practicality. Do what ever is in your budget at the time. A custom tune is a great way to wake your truck up without spending to much(not cheap per say) not to mention one of the easiest/cleanest mods you can do.

You are forgetting functionality.

Deezee Tailgate Assist for the tail gate.

Bull Ring Tie Downs for the stake pockets.

2 things I've added that I love!

Also white LED lighting inside the cab instead of the stock yellowish bulbs.

Extra lighting for the rear is a excellent upgrade too if you ever need light at the rear, love my rigid SRM's!
