Default Ordering update

Just placed an order last night - 2011 Lariat, EB, Oxford white, black leather interior, 4x4, SCREW, 6.5 bed, max tow, fully loaded (including nav).

It does appear that the nav rumors are true and are still a problem. Dealer mentioned there is a supply shortage, no ETA. He said we probably won't know anything until July?? Curious if anyone else has ordered recently with nav and is hearing the same thing.

He also mentioned the possibility that this order may roll to the '12 model year if the nav issues push the build date too far out.

I'm on the fence with this one, part of me is content letting the order roll to '12, the other part of me is very anxious to have the truck in my driveway. We did some searching, nothing really close to this in any inventory, so a dealer trade is not an option.

I'm in the process of trying to track down an FX4 screw ecoboost with nav right now and the info that I've gotten from several dealers is that due to the tsunami/quake there is a serious shortage of nav units. As such, Ford is only allowing Platinum and Limited F-150's to be built with nav until the supply chain is back to normal. I have not heard of any projected date for the nav units, but I know that both Canon and Nikon (I'm a photographer) are reporting that they expect to be back online and supplying regular quantities in July. I'd assume Sony is in a similar scenario.

I also ordered a Lariat. EB, Screw, 6.5 with Nav on 5-18. Latest status is clean order. Not sure what that means but no production date. Wont buy a short bed truck so ordering seems to be the only way to get one. None in dealer inventory. Would really like to have the Nav. Tough part is I already let dealer have the trade. If it rolls`into a 2012 order then from info I have seen wont see a truck till Sept or Oct if there are nav units then. Would be nice to get some real info on Nav availabilty from Ford.

Thanks Z06, keep this thread posted if you see any movement with your order. Curious if they will start pulling other orders (non Platinum, etc) as we get towards the end of the MY. If the nav issue isn't addressed for the '11s, presuming they are relatively unchanged in '12, hoping the delays don't continue for too long. I agree on the short bed comment....that is one thing I will not compromise on. I'm already compromising on that blonde wood in the Lariat and plan to send it straight to a hydrographic shop to have it redone ;-)

I read couple weeks ago that Ford released an update stating orders up to a late April date (cant remember exact day) would be filled. All after that were going to be notified that they were not getting them except Harleys and Limiteds

Here is my story..... On 5/23/2011, I ordered a 2011 F150 Platinum Eco with Navigation and Moonroof. The next day I got a call from the dealer that the order was rejected, so I told them that I would be buying a stock truck from another dealer. Then 20 minutes later, I received a call from the dealer saying that the "rep" ( not sure who the heck he is ) "made it happen". So now I'm waiting for the VIN and the window sticker in order to confirm it that is being built with the Navigation.

Update: just called the Ford Customer Relations Dept. and confirmed that the truck was ordered with Navigation but still waiting for a production date. I will keep posting updates.

This is what they kept telling me on my tux black order from 3/28. Then they announce the new black will begin in June and a week later get a June 9 build date.

Not liking these replies It's feeling more like 2012 for myself and anyone else considering ordering anything with nav that is a lower model than a Platinum. I really like the Platinum, I just don't like it $5K more than a fully loaded Lariat, especially when I can't even get Oxford White!!

+1 on the Oxford white. Only thing keeping my hopes up a little is that they have not kicked the order back. Also dont want the moonroof if no nav. Free with it. As stated some correct info from Ford concerning this would be nice. There is no consistant info from the dealers.
