Default opinions please....

So i decided to post the factory wheels and tires for sale here. Some people where interested. Well it came down to one of the members buying after all, we PM'd each other and in one of his PMs he asked if the they had sensors i said i believe they do, because the place where i got my new rims & tires said they were gonna charge me and xtra 200 to replace my sensors with new ones. He said all the questions he had been asking to disregard them just to give him my top dollar, which i did, i told him id like to stay at 550, when he offere 450. I wanted 550 for both wheels and tires, the member offered 500 to drive 2hrs to pick them off i agreed, now the member is back home and called me upset about the fact that the tires dont have sensors, so i called the place that changed out my factory wheels and tires to aftermarket ones and they 1st guy that answered said "we dont even carry sensors" which pist me off, now not only is the member who bought my wheels and tires pissed off but so am i.. the member is threating with giving me a reputation on here for paying 500 and having no sensors, even if i knew the wheels and tires had no sensors to me it makes no diference i wasnt gonna take less than 500, not only that but the member did accuse me of selling him tires with more than 30,000 miles on them, that really upset me my truck didnt even have 15,000 when i changed thwm out. Now the member found someone to get his old sensors and put them on the tires and wheels he purchased from me for 90 and wants me to pay 1/2, i dont want to because i feel he got a good deal, am i wrong, gimme your opinions. Thanks.

$45 is a really cheap way to save a relationship, regardless of whether or not you feel like you are in the correct.

Bottom line is, both of you lost when the sensors weren't there. Sharing the loss is a fair proposition, especially at only $45 each. If your reputation is not worth $45 to you then I would take another look at yourself.

I agree, but for that reason i asked him if he wanted some sort of receipt even if it was just a bank deposit slip he said no its a private transaction, the tires and wheels were to be sold as is, so before he gave the money i told him make sure your happy with your purchase. Its used stuff and sold as is guys.

I would be mad if I was told they had sensors but found out they didn't.

It has to do with what is right.

You buy a new computer for $500, and you were told it had a bluray drive. You were looking forward to watching blurays on it, OR you even go and buy some blu ray movies. Wouldn't you be pissed to find out it didn't have one?

Do what you feel is right, but you gotta understand why he is mad.

if you told him they had sensors when you sold them then i think he has a reason to be upset and 45 dollars is a fair compromise. just as you are upset at the shop for misinforming you that is what you did to him even if it was not intentional. as far as the miles on the tires, it was a used product and he should have inspected it before purchase so that is all on him.

IMHO - If he was told that the tires and wheels being purchased included the TPMS at the purchase price of $500 and he is dissatisfied with his purchase (rightfully so ) after finding out that they are not included he has every right to be upset. However I don't think that you should "have to" pay for half in order for him to get new TPMS for his "used" tires and wheels. If you want to be the nice guy and help him out that is certainly up to your discretion and best judgement but I don't think that you are bound to pay for half.

If he is not happy with his purchase and I was the seller I would offer to return his $500 but only after he returned the tires and wheels at his cost. That would be the way that most any retailer would handle this kind of situation from my personal experience. Just my two cents.

Thats exactly why i asked if he wanted some kind of receipt, if he wasnt happy he could return them and i would have given him money back but i even asked when we met and he looked at them closely, if he was sure and happy and he was fine with it. If i knew the tires and wheels didnt have sensors i would have sold them for 550, the least was 500 as i took from him, they are worth it he wouldnt find them any cheaper and if he would have asked me to go down i would have said no and taken my happy ***** back home with my wheels and tires, as a women im sure the tire shop lied to me obviously its easier to be fooled than what they could have fooled a man with. I might be wrong but i feel like a deal is a deal. Especially when he was the one to not want any receipt or anything.

If you don't want to pay the 45 dollars then just offer to drive the 2 hours and give him a refund, you'll get off cheaper by giving him the money.
