The version of 4.6 that is floating around is for the 2015 Escape with Gen1 4.2" non-touch screen.
It works on the 2013-2014 F150s with the Gen1 4.2" screen ONLY. Even then it's missing some minor fuctionality. So it's not perfect, but it does work better than 4.4
It WILL NOT work on the Gen2 MyFord Touch

I keep this thread in mind whenever I read a press release from Ford claiming that they want to compete with apple and google in the car connectivity market. lols all around....

Hey folks, I thought I would point out that Android Auto 2.0 now works without a dedicated head unit. I've got a wireless charging cradle that I cobble together with a proclip mount. When the phone detects the SYNC blutooth connection it autostarts and works quite well. SYNC only connects about 90% of the time, and still requires a fuse pull at random intervals, but the google product works well.
And again, thinking of this whole experience and laugh at the idea that ford has any chance in hell of competing with Google and Apple when they can't even get an update out correctly, on time, for a product I paid for.

So I am new here and I just bought a used 2013 Ford F-150 that has the Sync w/my ford touch and when I log in to the syncmyride.com website it says I'm up to date but then also shows this info.

So I am new here and I just bought a used 2013 Ford F-150 that has the Sync w/my ford touch and when I log in to the syncmyride.com website it says I'm up to date but then also shows this info.

Congrats on the new truck! The V4.4 software is for the Gen 1 systems, which is different from the MyTouch system. However, you may still have an update available. PM the VIN and I'll take a look!

Well, can't say I am surprised.....
Got a notice that there was a SYNC update for my 2012 F150 and went through the process of ATTEMPTING to INSTALL FILES for 1.5 hours before I gave up.
Definitely didn't update anything except MY EXTREME DISPLEASURE FOR ANYTHING FORD AND SYNC!
After my lovely 1.5 hrs of letting the truck load up the atmosphere, I checked the website to see if there was a suggested time frame for the upload (previous updates did suggest it may take 30 minutes or more) - nothing noted so I have no clue if I was close to the end or if the entire process is FUBAR'D........
I have been waiting nearly 2 YEARS for an update and then this piece of crap. Should have known better.

2nd attempt discontinued after 1hour 15 mins. Ran a Health Report in hopes there is some information sent to Ford that helps them address this.
My displeasure continues to find new summits.....
