As others say - also check the SD card.

After all of that - everything I've learned from here and owning cars for so many years - never let the dealer or anyone else touch your truck for anything you can do yourself. Some may not feel technically savvy, but updating sync is pretty straight forward if you've got a USB key and an hour.

Hope it is easily fixed. If the system is running at all - I'd just try the update again - download online.
And the installation fails for various reasons. Mine failed and no amount of tinkering could bring it back. It appeared to mostly function correctly.

The dealer ran a couple of tests and they failed so they replaced the APIM. It now works.

I agree, it can be frustrating as hell but it might be a bit too simplistic to say it's just a software install. We know these things are buggy as hell.

Maybe what happened in your case is why they extended the warranty on that module.
It has the potential to go haywire, for reasons not explained.

Sorry I didn't specify, it was covered under my ESP.

Point is, I had the software installation problems. Yeah, it still worked (sort of) but qualified for replacement because the Ford test procedure was used.

Don't look at it as a PC that failed to boot up or even displayed any kind of anomalies. It never did. It just behaved strangely and exhibited the same behaviors others complained about here. That may not be enough to justify replacing the APIM but my point still stands.

You're welcome, MTN GHOST RIDER. You can take the vehicle to any Ford or Lincoln dealer for assistance. Let me know how it goes!

Sorry for the delay in response, it was a busy Monday and Sunday around my house.

I know it's a simple question, but when you remove the card, that's what it shows and is, just a compass.
Yes, the SD card is installed.

I tried that and it doesn't even allow me to say 'navigation,' show 'map' or anything like that. It doesn't have that option anymore.

When the quadrant is activated, there is no map. It is blank.
The SD card is installed correctly.
I am good with technology but I'd rather have the dealership do it since its still under warranty.

If I take out the card, it's still just a compass,(no street names) and won't do anything when I press on the Nav quadrant.

The streets won't appear and I can't activate Nav.

All this is just weird and leads me to believe that the dealership did something wrong. They didn't want to do it in the first place until I continue to complain about it dropping signal and then they did it and now I wish they wouldn't have.

Yep they screwed it up! Go to nearest dealer and have them fix it.
