Just bought a 14 FX4 with remote start...only came with 1 key.

Can I get a second key, have it cut and program it if i only have 1?

Are there any other options?

Yes. Buy a blank on eBay and take it to your dealer. Cost should be around $65 total instead of dealer's ~$120ish.

 

I was going to go the ebay way , but my dealer was only $10 more for the key then ebay. So I went with their key. But it still cost me 265 ish for the key, cut, and program. And buy yourself a 3rd key as well and you can program it yourself if you have 2 keys programed for the truck.

 

Buy a blank on E bay many key shops now have equipment to program transponder key's much cheaper than dealer.

 

So I got a 2014 with three keys, but only has the remote start. Do you need to have two keys with the remote start to program, or do you just need two keys already programed to the truck? I would like to avoid the dealer if I can.

 

I only had one key, so I got two extra keys from Amazon and programmed them myself within 5-10 minutes and then got them both cut for $6 a key at the local locksmith

so you WERE able to program them yourself only have 1 key......can you post a link or directions on how to do this?

unless I'm missing something, you need 2 good keys to do this...or can you use the first key twice?

 

This is the video I used, it worked for my 2013 F150. They key set I bought came with instructions that were identical to what this video says
