Default Need help please.

So I am a little confused. I sold Ford vehicles for years, until 2004, and currently run a pre-owned truck center. I just replaced my 2013 XLT Supercrew 5.0 with a 3.73 elocker with a 2013 Limited 6.2 with a 3.73 elocker.

Looking up the tow ratings for this truck, in Fords towing guide, it stated that a 6.2L can tow 11100lbs, with a footnote that states the Limited Model is at 7300lbs. What changes to cut the towing capacity almost 4000lbs?

I can't believe it would be the 22" rims, is there a rear sway bar or spring rate that is different. That was never an issue back in the day I sold them.

Both identical trucks, 4x4 supercrew 5.5' box. I noticed the other engines have the same restriction in the Limited model.

could be the load rating of the 22" rims like you referred too. load rating should be on the back of the rim. I know from looking at aftermarket rims a lot like the Fuel are rated 2200-2500 lbs. others are 3500 lbs. for same diameter. for a truck I would use no less than 3500 lb. rating but that is just me. just looked at my 2013 brochure and it had no listing for max trailer towing on the Limited.

On the options sheet(s), is there any reference to a "tow package"? My 2007 had this option, which included a 3:55 rear axle setup; perhaps this gearing makes a difference?

Pretty sure it's the wheels and low profile tires if I remember correctly.

Do they even make an LT rated tire in 22" ? LT (light truck) is required for max tow. If the tire is P rated (passenger) you get limited tow.

I agree...P rated 22" tires lower the towing capability. Sport tuned shocks can't help either.
